I agree that a tie would have been a great result. Houston is just so deep, and we fielded a team that looked nothing like the team that brought us to first place. Two new guys, three starters out, Fabi returning... yeah, I was real surprised that we were as competitive as we were. I'm never a fan of bringing Deuchar off the bench, but I was pumped about his goal (and I understand that Jason may have been resting him in light of his extended season, as he's indicated previously). But the standouts in this one were clearly Findley and Yura. Hopefully we net a better result versus the Crew.

My money is on Houston. How can you bet against these guys when a cup is on the line?

HOU 2 - NE 1... Ahhh the disappointment the NE had to face after loosing yet another cup game! In my opinion, a team that chokes when playing for a cup deserves the humiliation and disappointment!

I agree that the goal should have been allowed. If it is that close it should be given to the striker...

At least they won 2-0 so that it was not as big of an issue...

When will FIFA and the MLS start using existing technology to help with offsides calls, and questions of wether something was a goal or not? Probably never...

My take: The Pachuca goal should have been allowed. After mulitple views, it appears that the striker was a tad bit onsides. Too bad, that is the way it goes in soccer-football. I am glad to see two MLS teams in the final. Also, it being NE and HD will make it extra spicey. I don't see these two teams treating it like a US Open Cup game, and I think they both want to win it!
